Final Defense Poster Series
The objective of project one was to translate a three dimensional space into a two dimensional, abstract from. The guidelines entailed choosing a building on campus and isolating the points, lines, and planes of the structure.
The quote I chose to represent this series is from Albert Einstein. It states, “The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious—the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science.” I thought this quote fit well with my concept of the building not only being a place for scientific research, but as a beautiful piece of art and architecture.
The grid used in my posters spans across the series as a whole. My posters go in order, starting with type and image equal, image dominant, and then type dominant. The grid spans across the series in this order, and creates a directional line across the series.
This poster series won 2nd place at the 34th Art & Design Annual at Iowa State University.
